Through MOI, Abdjoulie Njai set up an event for middle and high-school student to learn more bout orthopedics and encourage minorities entering the field

Diabetes Clinic Manager
2019 - 2020
MedZou is a student-run, free community clinic that serves the most needy in the Columbia community. There are 7 specialty clinics MedZou offers, one of which is the diabetes clinic, considering how common, expensive, and potentially debilitating the disease is.

Recruit and manage multidisciplinary team involved in serving diabetic patients such as medical student volunteers, pharmacists, dieticians, and nursing teams

Attend each evening managing the clinic, handle logistics of ensuring staffing is present and patients are being seen

Act as the liaison to ensure supplies, teams, and patients are present at each clinic

Community Outreach Coordinator

Plan events for students to help their community including volunteering at Granny’s House, soup kitchens, at Big Brothers Big Sisters, and at Special Olympics (for AMA club at Mizzou)

Started a period poverty drive, where those in the Columbia community who needed free access to tampons and other feminine supplies could access these free of charge

Women and Children's Drive

Through SIG, we set up a drive for Women and Children's Hospital to provide toys during holidays such as Christmas and Easter

Fund are provided by fundraizing events SIG holds throughout the year

Tutor & TA

Held weekly study sessions for students to answer questions and improve their understanding of the material for a total of about 4 hrs/ week for 3 semesters

Graded exams for a total of about 30 hrs/ exam, a total of 120 exams graded

Attended each lecture and gave lectures ~2x month

Free of charge, tutored students one-on-one who were struggling with the content

Clinical / Quality Improvement Activities
Co-Founder & Research Coordinator, Geriatric Patient Advocacy and Wellness Strategy - University of Missouri School of Medicine (2019 - present)

Program was designed to decrease delirium and hospital stay length in trauma surgery patients

As co-founder I helped to start up the program, get volunteers, and present the program to hospital personnel

As research coordinator I keep up to date data on the patients that are seen as well as quality measures, then synthesize that data to be used for research purposes
